Woollen wool fabrics for pea coats, coats

Iconic range of fabrics from Jules Tournier, these pieces are timeless and produced since the creation of the company under Napoleon III .

Our flannels, meltons peacoats or woolen wool fabrics are milled for 8 hours at low temperature; they then become naturally water-repellent and insulating.

To grant even greater durability to the fabric, an anti-pilling treatment can be added.

We offer a very wide range of colors. You can also alter our fabrics to suit your colorful desires, whether stock dyed (before the spinning operation) or piece dyed (after weaving). Additionally, we can craft tailor-made patterns thanks to our design office. (Checks, stripes, herringbone, plaid, etc.)

Woollen fabrics for making pea coats: timeless textiles.

At Jules Tournier Manufacture, we offer an iconic range of wool fabrics, including meltons, also known as woollen felts, used in the creation of coats, peacoats, jackets, blazers, and more. These fabrics, renowned for their elegance and quality, have endured through the ages, remaining a timeless choice and a cornerstone without losing their charm, establishing themselves as essential staples in the textile world

Fulling process: natural water-repellent and insulating properties.

Our fabrics undergo a traditional fulling process that can last up to eight hours. This technique naturally imparts water-repellent, insulating, and anti-pilling properties to the textiles. It also enhances the density and durability of the fabric, making it ideal for outerwear that offers both protection and comfort.

Anti-pilling treatment for enhanced durability.

To help our fabrics last longer and keep their original charm, we offer an anti-pilling treatment. This additional finish provides better resistance to everyday wear, ensuring that your creations stay elegant over time.

Customization of colors and designs.

We offer a wide range of colors for our wool fabrics. Customization is at the heart of our approach: you can tailor our textiles to your preferences, either through dyeing the fibers before spinning or by dyeing the fabric after weaving. Additionally, our styling team is available to create bespoke patterns such as checks, stripes, herringbones, or tartans, ensuring we meet the specific needs of each project.

Dedication to French excellence and artisanal expertise.

With a rich textile tradition dating back to 1865, we master the entire manufacturing process, from carefully selecting raw materials to delivering the finished product. This vertical integration allows us to ensure complete traceability and consistent quality. Certified by GOTS and ISO 9001, our workshops in Tarn uphold artisanal craftsmanship while incorporating modern technologies, providing exceptional fabrics for demanding professionals.

Eco-friendly fabrics

Our focus is on sustainable practices, and we choose eco-responsible options for our wool textiles by using recycled materials. We incorporate recycled wool fibers or yarns with up to 30% recycled wool in our products

The woolen wool fabric known as flannel or melton is felted, heavy, and cozy fabric, created by tightly weaving the fibers and then fulling the material. This technique results in a smooth, dense, and slightly fuzzy surface, which also makes the fabric naturally water-repellent and wind-resistant.

Thanks to its thickness and insulating properties, woolen wool fabric is perfect for winter clothing. It provides excellent protection against the cold while ensuring a good fit and an elegant silhouette.

Made in France from meticulously chosen raw materials, our woolen wool  fabrics blend traditional craftsmanship, technical excellence, eco-friendly practices, and elegance. They are perfect for demanding designers seeking quality and sophistication.

Absolutely, we offer a wide range of colors and finishes. Our team can also develop specific shades or textures according to your needs, drawing on our expertise and our in-house dyeing facility.
